                Attention, Hot Topics!
Darby Legislative Committee Chair John Posey wants to implore everyone to contact the Governor’s Office and request that she place the 100% Disabled Veteran State Sales Tax Exemption at the Point of Sale in her budget. District 51 State Representative Cindy Crawford filed the bill in the 2023 General Assembly, but it failed to make it out of the House Revenue and Taxation Committee. Rep Crawford is determined to re-introduce her bill in the 2025 General Assembly, but we need to lobby Governor Sanders to place this issue as a budget priority and on the agenda for any Special Session(s) she may call to deal with future state surpluses. In the last few years, the state of Arkansas has consistently had budget surpluses in the billions of dollars so this issue isn't a matter of whether the state can afford to give this benefit to 100% Disabled Veterans - it's a matter Priorities.

Please reach out to your State Rep’s & Sen.’s and ask them to make this law in the next General Assembly or any future Special Sessions that may be called. Also
PLEASE ASE CALL THE ARKANSAS GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AND ASK HER TO PLACE THE 100% DISABLED VETERAN SALES TAX EXEMPTION ISSUE ON HER BUDGET AS WELL AS ON THE AGENDA IF SHE CALLS A SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE SESSION! Thank You
